频度副词又叫频率副词，主要指一定时间内事情发生的次数，常用于一般现在时，但程度上有区别。常用的频度副词按频率大小从高到低的排列顺序是：always（总是）＞almost（几乎是）＞usually（通常）＞often（经常）＞sometimes（有时）＞seldom（很少）＞hardly（几乎不） ＞never（从不）。

　　一、频度副词的位置。

　　1． 在be动词之后。例如：

　　She is sometimes very busy.

　　她有时很忙。

　　2． 在助动词或情态动词之后。例如：

　　I will never forget the first time I met you.

　　我将永远忘不了和你的第一次见面。

　　3． 在实义动词之前。例如：

　　We often go there.

　　我们常去那儿。

　　I know I should take exercise, but I never do.

　　我知道我应该进行体育锻炼，但我从来没这样做过。

　　4． sometimes可放在句首、句中或句末，often也可放在句末。例如：

　　Sometimes she writes to me.

　　她有时候给我写信。

　　注意：如果有两个助动词，频度副词通常放在第一个助动词后面。例如：

　　We have never been invited to one of their parties.

　　二、频度副词位于助动词之前的两种情况。

　　1． 为了表示强调，频度副词有时也可位于be动词、助动词、情态动词之前，此时频度副词应重读。例如：

　　2． 在简略答语中，当频度副词与be动词、助动词或情态动词位于句末时，频度副词必须前置。例如：

　　―Yes, he always is.

　　三、几个常用的频度副词的用法。

　　1． always表示动作重复、状态继续，中间没有间断，意思是“总是，永远”。例如：

　　句子中有 hardly 时，其反意疑问句的附加疑问部分应该用肯定形式。例如：

　　8． never意为“从来不，永不”。如果位于句首，句子要用倒装语序。例如：
